Venue information

Conference venue: Polo Didattico Diomede Pantaleoni, via della Pescheria Vecchia, 62100 Macerata.

The venue is located just off the main square (Piazza della Libertà), approximately 15 minutes' walk from Macerata Centrale train station (Piazza XXV Aprile).

Macerata's semi-pedestrianised walled historic centre is built on a hill and features an array of twisting cobbled streets, stairs, stepped ramps and slopes. Delegates are advised to bring appropriate footwear or, alternatively, to use a taxi service to get to/from the venue.

Macerata has limited hotel accommodation so we advise participants to book early to avoid disappointment.

The following hotels are located in the historic city centre, within 10 minutes' walk from the venue

  This Best Western Hotel is a 20 minute walk from the walls enclosing the historic city centre, and about 30 minutes from the conference venue. The number 10 bus stops outside and will take you to/from the centre, although the service is not particularly frequent. The hotel has a car park and there is also on-street parking nearby, making this a good option for delegates arriving by car. If arriving by train, get a taxi from Macerata Centrale station or, alternatively, get off at Macerata Fontescodella station (note that this is an unmanned station; check your route on Google maps)

  Probably the best option for those on a limited budget, this residential structure is part of the Seminary (Seminario Vescovile), 5 minutes’ walk from Macerata Centrale train station and about 15 minutes’ walk from the conference venue. The website is only available in Italian but staff will reply to any email queries / bookings in English. There are 60 en-suite rooms of various sizes and levels of comfort (double and triple rooms also available). Please check the locations carefully on the map before you confirm your booking, and limit your search to approx. 1km from the centre (unless you have your own transport): the municipal bus service primarily serves the main arterial routes into the city.

GETTING AROUND BY CAR

If you intend to drive to/from the conference, please be aware that on-street parking is charged by the hour. Access to the historic city centre is restricted and violations will incur a fine. The best value parking can be found at the large municipal car parks (map available)
